Bluestone Magnolia

We remodeled this entire home, first the upstairs including the kitchen, master suite, and other rooms; then the downstairs including family-game room, and much more. Adding an 11-foot wide sliding door system to the south side of the kitchen was the magical element that created an indoor-outdoor feel while bringing in tons of natural light. We expanded the kitchen into an adjacent small laundry area, centered an island in the design that works hard on three sides, and wove subtle angles into various details of the room, including the floor, to keep it from feeling too static. Blue tones appear in tiles and stones and harmonize with natural materials inside and outside the home.

Throughout the home, interior windows (called relites) allow much-needed natural light to spill through the rooms. Natural wood and painted surfaces co-mingle with natural and engineered stones and surfaces to create a distinctly Northwest vibe. The wet bar and entertainment areas at the downstairs incorporate upstairs aesthetic choices in new ways, while a thoughtful lighting plan adds a feeling of comfort and warmth.
