This entire 70s-era home was remodeled in phases, and included window upgrades throughout. The master bathroom was replanned with new windows to add natural light and views of the park-like setting. We rearranged room layouts, expanded the bathing, shower and vanity spaces, designed a private toilet room and added a spacious walk-in closet.
The kitchen was opened up to the dining space, with added personalized touches like the aluminum-framed glass cabinet doors that hold treasured menus from the homeowners’ favorite inn in France, a patina-ed zinc countertop, cabinet doors with specially detailed and stained center panels, and much more. The homeowners, world travelers and great chefs, enjoy steam cooking, wine decanting and gathering around their new zinc countertop while frequently entertaining.
The mojo to updates at downstairs living spaces came from redirecting traffic through an adjacent space, and adding a tray ceiling to conceal ducting and allow for indirect lighting. Owners’ wine maps are the centerpiece to the wet bar design. Updated bathrooms and powder room are designed to be beautiful and functional with hidden multi-use features.
